WHAT'S NEW IN IXWLAN
Roaming Tests for Access Points
IxWLAN 6.00 introduces testing of roaming capabilities, verifying not only the success or failure of a roam, but also providing detailed metrics that measure roam delays and packet losses. Additionally, IxWLAN 6.00 extends 802.11i security features into roaming, verifying the ability of an Access Point to expedite the connection when a user moves from one Access Point to another while maintaining security using cached keys. This feature is critical in newer deployments, such as Voice over Wi-Fi networks, to ensure that a network will not drop calls, and that it will not compromise end users' privacy.
Multi-SSID Support for Testing Differentiated Services
IxWLAN 6.00's support for multiple SSIDs, configurable on a client-by-client basais, allows an equipment manufacturer or enterprise to verify that appropriate connectivity is provided, and that a new Access Point will handle the necessary security and reliability requirements.

Integration with Ixia's Family of L2-7 Traffic Generation Applications
Combined with Ixia's family of testing hardware and software, IxWLAN allows enterprises to verify all stages of a Wi-Fi deployment, from initial connection to the wired network through full testing of application capability and scalability, all while ensuring the deployment adheres to critical security standards. IxWLAN can be use in conjunction with Ixia's IxChariot® application, the industry's leading tool for emulating real-world applications, to test the functionality of the Wi-Fi network, confirming that it will meet business requirements when put into service. IxWLAN also works seamlessly with other Ixia test applications, such as Ixia's IxLoad™ application, which tests the performance of Layer 4-7 content-aware devices and networks under high traffic load; and Ixia's IxVoice™ application, which tests VoIP call set-up in a Wi-Fi network. Automated performance, scalability, and functional analysis of system behavior can be assessed using Ixia's IxScriptMate™ application, which provides a rich suite of pre-built tests based on industry standard RFCs and individual customer requirements.
